How do I schedule a transportation trip?

Call “1-888-878-RIDE(7433) to speak with our customer service representative. They will check your eligibility, verify your appointment time and location, verify your home address, and check availability of drivers. You will receive a confirmation of your pick up time once the trip is scheduled.

How can I find out if I’m eligible for transportation?

Simply call 1-888-878-RIDE(7433) and provide our customer service representative with your date of birth and social security number or AHCCCS ID number.

How do I apply for AHCCCS?

You can visit any Department of Economic Security (DES) office or visit any Indian Health Service (I.H.S.) facility and see the benefit coordinator office or apply online at azahcccs.gov.

What if I am not on AHCCCS or ALTCS?

If you are a workers compensation or purchase order client we will need a referral from your case manager for transportation services. Referrals can be faxed to 1-505-726-0159.

Why is my transportation request being denied?

Native Resource Development would like to complete all trips but on occasion some trips may not be possible. Many factors may contribute to the reason a trip is not possible. The diagnosis may not be covered by AHCCCS, the facility may not be the closest facility, eligibility may have expired or the driver’s schedule may be full. We will do our best to explain why a trip was denied. To ensure your trip is approved, call to schedule your trip as far in advance as possible, gather supporting documentation from your health care provider and maintain your eligibility.

Why do you need to know my specific diagnosis?

Arizona AHCCCS has restrictions on what diagnoses are approved for transportation services. Our customer service representative must verify the diagnosis prior to the trip to ensure your trip is approved. A list of covered diagnosis can be found at the State of Arizona AHCCCS website at https://azahcccs.gov/.

Do you transport for dental?

We are only able to transport for the purpose of dental appointments for children under the age of 18 years old.

Why is dental for diabetic not covered?

Currently, AHCCCS does not cover this service as it falls under dental for adults.

Do you transport for eye appointments?

Yes, we would need a specific diagnosis though, as transport for cataract checks and diabetic eye exams are covered, but routine eye exams are not covered with the exception of appointments for children under the age of 18 years old.

How come podiatry is not a covered service?

As of October 2011 AHCCCS eliminated that diagnosis, so it is no longer a covered service. We do, however, transport for foot surgeries that are not under podiatry.

Who can I speak to regarding a concern or complaint?

Native Resource Development strives to provide the best service possible. If you experience issues with your transportation service you can request to speak to the on-site supervisor or the transportation manager.

Can I make a request on who drives me?

We will do our very best to accommodate your request for drivers, however, depending on the overall scheduling needs, driver requests may not always be possible.

Is your company hiring drivers?

The number of drivers that we hire is based on the number of clients requiring transport from a given community. You are more than welcome to fill out an application to be placed on file for 6 months. If need arises in your community your application will be added to the interview pool for review. We are always looking for safe and courteous drivers, age 26 and over with a clean driving record.

A copy of your driver’s license, social security card and MVD certified 3 year driving record must be included with your application. Mail, fax or drop off all documents at our Gallup office. Your application will not be processed without all the required items.

Do you transport in New Mexico?

Call MY RIDES (844) 697-4337. Eligibility and transportation arrangements will be made by MY RIDES for scheduled pick up time with Native Resource Development. We are currently transporting for Centennial Care, Western Sky, and Presbyterian.

Can I schedule a ride through email?

Yes, please send an email with your name and phone number to triprequest@nrdci.com. A customer service representative will call you back within 24 hours (or by next business day) to schedule the ride.

Our transportation division has integrated the following in our program to help us meet these standards:

Vehicles are equipped with GPS fleet tracking systems for the safety of our customers, drivers and the community.
Vehicles are visually inspected for safety and cleanliness daily and before each trip.
Vehicles are regularly serviced and maintained by licensed mechanics.
Vehicles are fully insured.
Vehicles are inspected annually by the Arizona Department of Weights and Measure (AZDWM).
Driver Icon
Our drivers are CPR and First Aid certified and required to complete defensive driving training.
Our drivers are background checked and are required to maintain a clean fingerprint clearance card by the State of Arizona.
Driver performance is regularly evaluated by the company’s quality control inspector.
NRD provides 24 hour emergency on-call road assistance for all our vehicles in the event of a breakdown.
